One of the highlights of the summer was when the Tour de France came through Sommières.
It was a very hot day and extremely busy as people flocked in from all the neighbouring towns to see the spectacle! The road leading to Nimes was closed all day and all roads in and out of Sommieres were cosed off for much of the afternoon.
When the cyclists arrived, they sped through the town at such a speed that it was all over before it started! Alot of preparation for just a minute of excitement - but well worth it!
Extremely exciting though, and a perfect excuse to wander down and enjoy a cold “Pression’!
